DEAN MILANO & JULIANNE MACARUS have worked together, in various groups of fellow musicians, for over forty years, participating in Chicago area’s vibrant music scene. Julianne collaborated with acclaimed songwriters JAMES MCCANDLESS and MICHAEL SMITH in performance and on albums, and been involved in theater.
In the seventies, Julianne joined Dean, Rick Shryock, and Jean Gordon Sredl, and the trio became a quartet called “The Casualaires.” The concentration was on Broadway and Swing music from the 20’s, 30’s & 40’s, along with country, jazz, some originals, and odd pieces you might not, otherwise, encounter.
Dean and Julianne worked together, in the 80’s, in Rubbaband, a group that won the Regional Marlboro Contest, (co-winners with The Sundowners), at The Bar RR, in Chicago; and, again, at The Dry Gulch, in Schiller Park, Illinois, a country western dinner theatre.
Meanwhile, Julianne played on two of Dean’s CDs, (“Songs about Stuff” and “Vestiges: More Songs about More Stuff”), and released a cassette album of original songs, called, “Miss my Baby.“
