I’ve got one. Come on out to the Cafe Carpe to eat drink and hear live music, or to do any of the above. You will appreciate it, and so will we, (presuming good behavior on your part). Briefly, here’s what’s in store for you:
Get in the swing of almost spring with the NEW PIONEERS tonight Thursday the 14th at 7pm. This bluegrass band plays here once a month to a devoted audience who can’t stay away when the 2nd Thursday comes around.
Friday night the 15th, the Ides of March, be aware. It is the debut Carpe appearance of EMILY FORST, a Milwaukee native and a graduate of the Peck School of the Arts at UWM. Her debut album, Here We Go, recorded at the legendary Avatar Studios, New York City, is a timely collection of songs of hope, healing, and faith in the face of loss. The album has charted at #52 on i-Tunes and was a staff-pick on CD Baby. Emily was recently interviewed on the Border Crossings segment on Voice of America. Her music combines elements of pop, rock and soul, with layers of acoustic guitars and a full rock band. There are sultry ballads, reminiscent of Fiona Apple, alongside anthemic stadium rockers à la U2. Emily’s strong yet vulnerable vocals span effortlessly across octaves and genres.
Saturday night the 16th BILL CAMPLIN and THEE will walk all over you with their eclectic range of styles and effervescent style ranging from whimsical to insane.
Next week a stellar lineup with DAN NAVARRO, THE SILLS, and CLIFF EBERHARDT.
Remember to call to reserve.
