Busy end of year coming up here on Water Street.
Wednesday, December 26th the MERRY HORDE and FROG & TOAD return for their 2nd annual holiday benefit for the Fort Atkinson Food Pantry. Bring canned or packaged goods or a cash donation, and sit back and enjoy. Homegrown Merry Horde plays a medley of bluegrass as well as 60’s and 70’s classic tunes, featuring fine harmonies, while Frog & Toad play folk/ americana, originals and covers, on guitar, mandolin, and violin, also featuring fine harmonies. Festivities begin at 7:30.
On Friday December 28th THE DEVIL IN THE OUTHOUSE exit the loo to come here, beginning to perform at 8:00. Following is their blurb:
Who: Devil in the Outhouse- Looper (Brian Lucas), Scott (McCormick), Greg (Valde), & Sven (Ollie), will be offering their traditional holiday concert – which is unlikely to include much holiday music. However, there will be folk, blues, comedy and bathroom services available. The show starts at 8:00, but we encourage you to come early and eat dinner at the Café Carpe. The food is great and we certainly don’t want Kitty and Bill to go out of business. Who else would let us play in such a nice music room? Why: So you can hear Sven play amazing slide guitar & Scott play a funky blues accordion, so Greg can pretend he’s in a band, so you can watch Looper fantasize about women in the audience while drinking bourbon…but mostly so you can escape from your dysfunctional family during the holidays.Call to reserve. Hard to explain why, but these guys can draw a crowd.

Saturday December 29 SAM LLANAS (formerly of the Bodeans) returns with his tasteful band mates to showcase his penetrating singing and songwriting ability. He has many new songs in his repertoire and for a combo that performs mostly on stages larger than our whole back room and with monitors that dwarf our entire inventory of speakers, this band plays the little ol’ Carpe perfectly. A great chance to be on the inside of an exceptional artist. Hear his new record on his website. Call to reserve seats.
