Local singer-songwriter Kaia Fowler’s family has been facing some major challenges these past 2 years. Her husband, Scott, went from feeling like a healthy 42-year-old man when the New Year rang in on January 1, 2011 to facing one of the deadliest and most difficult to treat cancers by April of that year. Since then, he has undergone surgery, radiation and a combined total of about 11 months of chemotherapy. His chemotherapy treatment is ongoing with no planned end-date. It is keeping him alive and is the recommended treatment for as long as it continues to work.

Even with insurance, costs for medical care and travel to treatment add up. Due to the severe anemia and other side effects, Scott was not able to keep working at his job, so, as of March, the family has gone from two incomes to one. Kaia and friends wanted to hold a benefit concert to build community support and to raise some funds to help with cancer-related expenses.

Music will begin with Kaia Fowler and Jessica Kennedy at 7. Perry Baird will play at 7:45, and headliner PETER MULVEY at 8:30.
