SUMMARY:CASH BOX KINGS
DESCRIPTION:The show was postponed from a cold night in December.  Buy tickets (if available) below the bio.   \nAlligator Recording artists the CASH BOX KINGS are bona fide blues royalty. Co-led by real-deal Chicago blues vocalist and songwriter OSCAR WILSON and  songwriter\, harmonica giant and singer JOE NOSEK\, the band plays masterfully raw and unvarnished houserocking blues. Wilson’s huge\, gritty vocals and Nosek’s powerhouse harmonica fuel their razor-sharp original songs. BILLY FLYNN will be making it a trio with his masterful guitar playing. \nMixing tough Chicago and Delta blues\, jumping proto-rock ‘n’ roll\, and steamrolling “bluesabilly” (their original mix of Chicago blues and Memphis rockabilly)\, they attack every song they play with contemporary authority and old school authenticity.  With their top shelf musicianship and trademark good humor\, the Cash Box Kings are a one-of-a-kind blues band. In the words of MOJO magazine\, the band is “flawless.”

SUMMARY:MY POLITIC
DESCRIPTION:MY POLITIC is a Folk/Americana duo consisting of Kaston Guffey and Nick Pankey\, who grew up together in Ozark MO and started My Politic around the age of 15. Kaston writes character driven story songs and Nick adds sibling-like harmony to create a unique sound that is totally their own. \nShort-Sighted People in Power “They are inspired\, brave and brilliant songs\, remarkably comprehensive but never preachy or ponderous. It’s perfect for this American moment. Rendered tenderly with close harmonies throughout\, it evoked the sound of Don Henley and Glenn Frey singing Randy Newman songs. It’s subversive\, but also soulfully charming.” – Paul Zollo – American Songwriter \nInspired by artists like John Prine\, Woody Guthrie\, Randy Newman\, Bob Dylan\, Patty Griffin\, Nina Simone\, Simon & Garfunkel classic country and so much else\, My Politic has recorded 9 albums to date and have released 3 of those since moving to Nashville 7 years ago: “Anchor” (2015) “12 Kinds of Lost” (2017) and “Short-Sighted People In Power” (released 10/30/2020)\, which is a collection of songs written and recorded between March and August of 2020 hyper-focused on politics & current affairs. The album has been featured 3 times in American Songwriter. \nTheir newest album “MISSOURI FOLKLORE: SONGS & STORIES FROM HOME” will be released early December 2022.

SUMMARY:TIM GRIMM- album release
DESCRIPTION:Ticket link is below bio. \nTIM GRIMM is a bit of a Renaissance man in the performing arts world. He has for the past 20 years blended his love for songwriting\, travel\, and the storytelling of acting (theatre\, film and television). Tim’s new album\, THE LITTLE IN-BETWEEN (March 2023)\, is an evocative evolution from his previous albums – and his most personal to date\, written in three intense months during the winter of 2021-22. This album traces his travel between the hills of southern Indiana and the Oklahoma prairie – and his internal journey from a rich past to an unexpected future – using a first-person voice in every song to illuminate a deep inner territory that historically remained more submerged in his work. This fertile creative year also yielded forays into visual art\, with Tim using pastels and charcoal to create striking folk-art style triptychs\, pieces of which now form the visual art featured on the new album cover and booklet. \nFrom 2019– HEART LAND AGAIN revisits a renowned collection of songs from 20 years ago…. A STRANGER IN THIS TIME (2017)\, In the Fall of 2016 he recorded the single- WOODY’S LANDLORD– which was the #1 song on Folk Radio for the year. Tim’s previous recording\, THE TURNING POINT\, produced the #1 song on Folk radio in 2014– KING OF THE FOLKSINGERS. It was a particularly gratifying honor\, given the song is a tribute to Tim’s friend and musical icon\, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott. Tim’s history with Ramblin’ Jack goes back 30 years– beginning with a bicycle ride that led to The Newport Folk Festival…. Tim contributing liner notes to Jack’s Grammy winning album\, The South Coast (1995)… Jack’s recording Buffalo Skinners with Tim on Tim’s album\, Coyote’s Dream (2003)….and now\, most recently KING OF THE FOLKSINGERS. \nComplete bio on Tim’s website.

Steve and Perry handle vocals\, accompanying on acoustic guitars\, while Steve also plays mandolin and Christian fleshes out the trio’s offerings with delicate violin enhancements. \nAs solo musicians and as members of various area musical groups through the years\, the three are familiar to Carpe audiences. Borchardt and Ellestad have played with The Merry Horde bluegrass band and Baird previously partnered with Mike and Patty McDougal in The Buzzards and currently is in the Rose Among Thorns quartet.
