DESCRIPTION:Come and enjoy a leisurely casual New Year’s Eve hanging out with friends and friendly strangers at the Carpe\, continuing the hygge of this past month here.  This will be a food/music package deal\, and it’ll be a great and fun night of music with this quintet. \nSeating is limited. There is still some room. Make reservations at 920-563-9391.  Should you want to come just for the show\, the ticket price of $30 will include choice of either a drink or the dessert offering. \nDoors open at 6:30\, we’ll be serving dinner from 7:00 on. Music will start after 9:30. \n  \nTHE FOOD: \nDinner consist of a salad followed by chicken tchoupitoulas- a delicious concoction of potatoes\, mushrooms\, chicken and bernaise sauce.  (Those with any special food issues should notify us when placing reservations\, and we will do our best to accommodate.)  A dessert course will be served during the set break. \n  \nTHE MUSIC: \nROBIN PLUER is an amazing chanteuse\, a sultry diva with pizzazz and jazzy style-  a multi-faceted songstress who elegantly but playfully delivers a mélange of vintage French ballads with a distinctive twist\, as well as some R & B gems and non-French ballads. Robin is a perennial WAMI Award winner as well as the Shepherd Express’ Best Female Vocalist. With Juli Wood\, Connie Grauer and Kim Zick (Mrs.Fun) she created The Rhythm Club to perform an eclectic array of jazz\, pop\, R&B and French songs. Robin collaborated with Peter Buffett\, recording a song for his album\, Songs from an East Side Attic. Robin combines vintage French chansons from the 20s\, 30s and 40s with contemporary songs which she performs each year at Bastille Days in Milwaukee. She was a member of the R&B Cadets and Paul Cebar and the Milwaukeeans. \nJoining her will be saxophonist (and singer) JULI WOOD (also once of the R&B Cadets)\,  guitarist CHRIS HANSON\, rhythm guitarist John Parrott\, and bass player John Babbitt. \n“Last year’s treat was Juli Wood\, a gutsy tenor and baritone saxophonist who also sings with the earthy gusto of an R&B diva filtered through a hard bop sensibility.” Jazz Times \nCHRIS HANSON – If you’ve ever watched TV you’ve heard Chris’s music. If you’ve ever watched TV you’ve listened to Chris Hanson’s music. From hit shows like The Apprentice\, Desperate Housewives and 20/20 to Emmy Award winning series such as HBO’s Sex In The City and Deadwood. Chris’s music has been used extensively on every major network\, their affiliates\, cable stations worldwide\, radio\, advertizing agencies and post houses including placement in the Super Bowl. Chris helped build and produce several production music libraries on both coasts and has brought his production and composing expertise to MidCoast Music. has been a Producer/Composer for TV and Film for the past 20 years\, including  Sex And The City\, 20/20\, The Sopranos and Desperate Housewives. Chris has been tearing up guitar riffs for 35 years with Wisconsin’s best. \nJOHN PARROTT–  They don’t make them like this any more. John is the rock of the band and the very definition of rhythm guitar. Playing an 18” Epiphone Emperor John is a drumset that plays chords. In the spirit of the great rhythm players from the big band era John doesn’t need an amp. Having played for years with Jethro Burns (Homer and Jethro)\, Chet Atkins and Chuck Hedges\, John brings the authority of a player who has gigged with the best. \nJOHN BABBITT – John is one of Milwaukee’s most active jazz bass performers having worked with Chuck Hedges\, David Hazeltine and Manty Ellis. John has worked numerous Midwest Symphonic Orchestras including Rockford\, Oshkosh\, Green Bay and Milwaukee’s own MSO. \n

SUMMARY:JEFFREY FOUCAULT and KRIS DELMHORST- SOLD OUT
DESCRIPTION:  This show has SOLD OUT.  Click on the Buy tickets link to Brown Paper Tickets and leave a note in the Discussion section at the bottom of the page to express your interest in obtaining or divesting yourself of tickets. \n  \n  \nLucky us and you. \nThese folk luminaries will brighten your January. \nHomegrown JEFFREY FOUCAULT grew up in Whitewater. A longtime disciple of the rich and strange music that sings behind the American veil\, Foucault has spent the last decade mining the darker seams of country and blues\, producing a string of spare and elemental albums of rare power while garnering accolades across the United States and overseas for a tersely elegant brand of songwriting set apart by its haunting imagery and weather-beaten cool. His latest record\, Salt as Wolves. \nHe lives in Western Massachusetts with \nKRIS DELMHORST \nwho has built a thriving career and a devoted following from the ground up\, and without major label hype. The same independence of spirit that led Delmhorst to spend some early years working on subsistence farms\, cooking on a schooner off the coast of Maine\, or hitch-hiking the back roads of Ireland with a fiddle on her back\, is evident in the arc of her musical evolution: a willingness to work on her own terms and her own time. Along the way she’s parlayed a decade of successful cross country and trans-Atlantic touring into one of the most distinct voices in American music.
