KAREN JOHNSON started performing at the Café Carpe in 1998. She counts herself so very fortunate to have the opportunity to perform at such a wonderful place!   (aww.. Ed.)

Karen retired early from her career as a 4th grade teacher.  She now enjoys many opportunities to visit her grown children and often prays in midwinter that the golf season starts really soon for her husband Dave.
Joan Baez, Nanci Griffith, and Alison Krauss are just a few of her favorite artists. Listening to the Country Radio in her dad’s old Chevy truck sparked her love for old country songs of which a few find their way onto her song list.
